Boy, 10, and three teens arrested after E.K. robbery

A 10-year-old boy and three teens under 16 were taken into custody after a man was forced into his East Kildonan residence early Thursday, where he was assaulted and property taken, police reported today.

The 10-year-old boy was released with no charges, as the law states a person under the age of 12 can't be charged.

About 1:30 a.m. Thursday, the  24-year-old man was outside his home in the 1000 block of Moncton Avenue when he was confronted by four youths.

The youths demanded the man’s personal electronic device, before he was forced  into his residence, followed by three of the youths, while the fourth remained outside. Two of the youths physically assaulted the victim and then all four fled with an undisclosed amount of property. He was not injured, police said.

The same day police located two of the suspects near Regent Avenue and Plessis Road, and the two others later in the day.

A 15-year-old male youth has been detained in custody and charged with the following:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault

A 13-year-old male youth was released on a Promise to Appear and is facing the following charges:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault

A 13-year-old male youth was released on a Promise to Appear and is facing the following charge:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house
