Boy, 12, charged with stealing truck
A 12-year-old boy was charged with stealing a pick-up truck early today, police report.
Police spotted the stolen truck at about 3 a.m. near Notre Dame Avenue and Keewatin Street. The driver of the stolen truck sped off before crashing into a propane tank at a gas station in the first 100 block of Keewatin.
The driver, and a passenger, ran off. Two boys 12 and 14 were later taken into custody.
In addition to the vehicle theft charge, the 12-year-old is facing several other charges, including: possessing marijuana, driving without a licence, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
The passenger was not charged.
Both boys were released.
