The 13-year-old suffered non life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

RCMP have charged a 16-year-old Selkirk boy with assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. He was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Selkirk court on Jan. 8.
