Boy approached twice by alleged abductor; suspect sought

Winnipeg police are looking for an Asian man who allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy on his way to school Monday morning.

Police said the incident happened near Sharp Street and Lodge Avenue. The boy was approached twice by the suspect, who said that the boy’s mother asked him to pick him up. Each time the boy refused.

The suspect drove off.

The suspect is described as Asian man between 30 and 40 years of age, with short black hair and clean-shaven.

He was driving a dark blue, four-door car, possibly a Pontiac.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 204-986-6245.
