Brandon RCMP searching for semi after crash

Brandon RCMP are asking for help in investigating a triple collision Tuesday afternoon after a semi swerved on to a gravel shoulder, created a dust cloud causing a chain-reaction crash, then left the scene.
The crash happened at 4:15 p.m. in Brandon on Veterans Way at the intersection of Curtis road, RCMP said in a news release.
An eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe and a Dodge SX 2.0 were stopped on Veterans Way waiting for traffic to clear and turn left onto Curtis Road.
An approaching eastbound semi pulling a livestock trailer was required to take evasive action to avoid a collision, by swerving to the right onto the gravel shoulder of the road, police said. That created a big dust cloud hampering visibility and caused the 2004 Kia Specrta following the semi to ram into the back of the stopped Dodge that then crashed into the back of the Tahoe, police said.
The driver of the semi trailer may have been unaware of the crash and continued east without stopping. Police said they’re trying to to identify the driver and owner of the semi-trailer unit. They have no description of the semi other than it was hauling a livestock trailer.
A 10-year-old boy in the Dodge was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries that police said are not life-threatening.
The driver of the Tahoe wasn’t injured. The drivers of the other two vehicles were treated for minor injuries. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the Brandon RCMP (204) 726-7520.
