Canadian Pacific Holiday Train headed this way

- Breakfast cereal

- Canned/Powdered milk

- Beans & Legumes
- Baby Food
Colourful lights, a boxcar stage and moving music from bright, young entertainers, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will stop in Manitoba today at 7 p.m. in Whitemouth and Winnipeg at 9:15 p.m.
Travelling across Canada with the slogan of "making a difference one stop at a time," the 2012 Holiday Train will make its Whitemouth stop at 167 Railway Avenue across from the Whitemouth Hotel and its Winnipeg stop at Molson Street between Panet Road and Munroe Avenue.
All non-perishable food items and cash donations received will go the Winnipeg Harvest food bank to help families in need at this festive time of the season and all year.
The train includes 14 brightly decorated cars which are covered in thousands of LED lights. A boxcar converted to a stage will feature entertainment from JUNO Award-winning country group Doc Walker which hails from Portage la Prairie, Kingston, Ont. native Miss Emily and the Ottawa group Brothers Dube.
People are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early to make their donation and get a good spot to watch the show.
This year’s Holiday Train started out on Nov. 28 from Beaconsfield, Que. and will complete its three-week journey on Dec. 18 at Port Moody, B.C.
The Brothers Dube have been performing on the train from Beaconsfield to Whitemouth while Doc Walker will join the Holiday Train in Whitemouth for the rest of the tour as it heads west. Miss Emily, described as an "Adele-esque artist" is performing during the entire tour.
Canadian Pacific is holding a Capture the Spirit contest until Dec. 20 where spectators can share their Holiday Train photos for a chance to win four top prize packs of $300 in CP merchandise and a $500 donation in the winners’ names to the local food bank. There will be 26 runners-up prizes awarded by random draw of Holiday Train ornaments. See www.cpr.ca under In Your Community to enter.
