Free Press chats with producer Klymkiw before doc screens

  • Print

Greg Klymkiw, the Winnipeg-spawned producer of Tales from the Gimli Hospital, Crime Wave and Careful, talks to Free Press movie writer Randall King about his life and career Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Winnipeg Free Press News Café.

The chat, which will be webcast live, takes place before a Cinematheque screening of Survival Lessons: The Greg Klymkiw Story Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The film, directed by Ryan McKenna, is an often-hilarious look at Klymkiw’s career in the halcyon days of the Winnipeg Film Group in the late ’80s and early ’90s, and his invaluable contribution to that cinematic legacy.

The News Café is located at 237 McDermot Ave.  If you can't make it down to the restaurant for coffee break, the interview will also be livestreamed on this page.
