Cheers greet newest millionaires

WINNIPEG — There were smiles and cheers as Manitoba's new millionaires, Marie and Kirby Fontaine, kissed and accepted their ceremonial $50-million cheque today.

The Fontaines, from Sagkeeng First Nation located about 150 km northeast of Winnipeg, bought their ticket last Friday at the store in Pine Falls and learned the next day that they had hit the jackpot.

Both Fontaines said that even though their bank account had suddenly grown by $50 million, they're still the same people they were a week ago.

"We still shop at Walmart," Kirby said.

Marie said, "It's just like the song but it's more than a million dollars and we still like Kraft dinner."
