Choose Your Charity series features 8 different musicians

Eight local singer-songwriters are raising money for their favourite charities.

The new Choose Your Charity series at the Winnipeg Free Press News Cafe features eight different musicians raising cash for charities of their choice.

"The purpose of the Choose Your Charity series is to try and encourage people to choose something they are passionate about and make a difference," says organizer James Struthers, who will be raising money for Winnipeg Harvest.

The shows will take place Thursdays at 7 p.m. from Jan. 26 to March 22. Here’s the complete schedule with the performer’s charity in parenthesis:

Jan. 26, JD Edwards (Manitoba Mutts)

Feb. 2, Katie Murphy (Beyond Borders ECPAT Canada)

Feb. 9, Keri Latimer (West Centre Women’s Resource Centre)

Feb. 16, Don Amero (Agape Table)

March 1, Flo (World Vision)

March 8, Thrift Store Love (CancerCare Manitoba Foundation)

March 15, Hayley Gene (W.I.S.H. Inc.)

March 22, James Struthers (Winnipeg Harvest)

Admission is $15, or $10 with a non-perishable food item for Winnipeg Harvest.
