A memorial service for victims of violence in Ukraine will be held this Sunday in Winnipeg.

The "panakhyda," or memorial service, starts at 4 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt St.

"This service is for the victims of the state violence against democratic demonstrators in Ukraine and will show solidarity with the people there who are struggling for freedom," the Ukrainian Canadian Congress’s Manitoba council said in a press release. All are welcome to attend. Premier Greg Selinger is expected to be there.
