WINNIPEG — City council has stripped a 101-year-old Osborne Village home of its heritage status as a prelude to its demolition, paving the way for the construction of a 74-unit condominium complex.
Council voted 9-6 in favour of removing Dennistoun House at 166 Roslyn Rd. from the city's heritage inventory.
Sunstone Resort Communities wants to build a 12-storey residential tower and row of townhouses on Roslyn Road.
Heritage Winnipeg and some Osborne Village residents opposed the proposal.
