City company to unveil new pet dental care supplement

A Winnipeg biotech company is debuting a new pet dental care product Friday that they claim will scientifically kill the bacteria that leads to painful dental diseases.

Kane Biotech will unveil the product, StrixNB, at the Central Canadian Veterinary Conference in Winnipeg at 11 a.m. at the Victoria Inn on Wellington Avenue.

The public debut of StrixNB will coincide with Pet Dental Health Month in February during which pet owners are encouraged to check their pets’ dental health.

According to a Kane Biotech release, pet owners can just add StrixNB to their pet’s water for "scientifically demonstrable better oral hygiene" by inhibiting the formation of biofilms, which lead to bacteria.

StrixNB is only available in Manitoba via veterinary clinics across the province.
