City man charged in highway collision which killed three

A Winnipeg man was charged Monday in the death of three people killed in a head-on collision on Highway 3 near Sanford in January, RCMP report today.

Clarke Gordon Harding, 31,  has been charged with three counts of Criminal Negligence Causing Death, three counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death and three counts of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.

 Two vehicles collided head-on about 3 a.m. on Jan. 4 just north of Sanford, southwest of Winnipeg, RCMP said.

A 64-year-old man from Sanford was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 20-year-old woman from Sanford and 21-year-old woman from Winnipeg died later in hospital on Jan 5.

Harding will appear in a Winnipeg court on July 25.
