Police have taped off an East Kildonan intersection where a City of Winnipeg truck apparently hit a pedestrian soon after 1 p.m.

Traffic is being blocked in all four directions at the intersection of Watt Street and Munroe Avenue as investigators study the scene.

The condition of the victim could not be immediately confirmed. An ambulance carried the pedestrian away from the scene without siren or flashing lights.

Other City of Winnipeg employees arrived on the scene and appeared to be consoling an occupant of the one-ton city truck involved in the accident.
