Controversial Louis Riel School Division trustee candidate Candace Maxymowich called Sunday for creationism to be taught in public school science class alongside evolution.
The 20-year-old candidate in Ward 4 also said in a series of postings on Twitter that she opposes Bill 18, and specifically the section which requires schools receiving provincial funding to support any student who asks to form a gay-straight alliance in the school.
Maxymowich, an activist in Conservative youth politics, urged parents to protect religious freedom and their children’s moral education.
