  • Print

A man is facing multiple charges following an assault on two Winnipeg police officers over the weekend.

The incident occurred Saturday night at around 9:15 p.m. when two males attending a residence on Granville Avenue began causing a disturbance, yelling for the occupants to come out of the home.

The suspects fled when the police helicopter arrived on scene.

Once police on the ground located the suspects, one of the men resisted and became aggressive. He was eventually subdued and placed in handcuffs. The suspect also tried to kick at the officers.

Stephen Joe, from Winnipeg, is facing numerous charges. The 26-year-old has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
