Winnipeg Police are warning the public about a cougar sighted Saturday morning near the St. Boniface Industrial Park.

Several people saw the cougar near Fermor Avenue, east of Lagimodiere Boulevard and west of Plessis Road just after 8 a.m. Saturday. The cougar fled when it was spotted and police searched the area but failed to find any trace of the animal.

The cougar was last seen heading north towards CN Rail’s Symington Yards.

Police say no one should approach the animal. If you see it, call police at 986-6222.
