Arlington reopens after collision which injured one person

Arlington Street has reopened after a collision early Tuesday that injured one person had closed the street north and southbound between William and Pacific avenues.

One person was taken to hospital in unstable condition after the crash, which took place at about 6:40 a.m., around the 1000 block of Arlington Street.

By 9:25 a.m. two people who lived in the area said Arlington was open and the damaged vehicles were gone.

Damaged vehicles, included a van, a GMC Jimmy and an Acura.

The GMC Jimmy has extensive damage, and pieces from the crash were sent flying to the sides of the road. The Acura, which was an estimated 50 metres away from the two other vehicles, had plowed into a fence on a property at the northwest corner of Arlington and William.

Patrick Hilton, who lives in the home where the Acura crashed through the fence, said he heard a "rumble" and went outside. A man who got out of the Acura told him he'd seen the other collision, which caused him to lose attention and hit the fence.
