Crash hospitalizes woman, daughter

WINNIPEG -- A woman and her eight-year-old daughter are in a Winnipeg hospital after the truck they were travelling in rolled over north of the city earlier today.

Just before 11 a.m., Powerview RCMP were called to a single-vehicle rollover on Traverse Bay Road North in the RM of Victoria Beach, the RCMP reported in a release.

The two were in a pickup truck travelling south when the woman lost control and rolled the vehicle, RCMP said. The driver was airlifted, while the child was taken by ambulance to a Winnipeg hospital with undetermined injuries. Local area emergency services, along with the STARS helicopter were also called to the scene.

The RCMP continues to investigate.
