Critics of how the province is handling the Bipole III transmission line want an independent review of it and other Manitoba Hydro projects.
They also presented an open letter that includes comments from former premiers Ed Schreyer and Gary Filmon.
Canadian Taxpayers Federation Prairie Director Colin Craig said Hydro's $34-billion plan to build the new bipole line and two new northern dams needs a proper examination other than what's occurred to date.
Craig, Bipole III Coalition spokesman Garland Laliberte and retired Hydro CEO Len Bateman said without that review, the risk to Hydro's customers of seeing higher utility bills is too great.
