Crown corporations disclose ticket giveaways

The province today released what it says are complete lists from its Crown corporations on how their Jets season tickets were distributed.

The lists give more details on how the tickets were disbursed by the Crown corporations through sponsorship and advertising deals they have with the Jets and MTS Centre, as well as one set of season tickets purchased by Manitoba Hydro.

The NDP also continued their calls today for the Progressive Conservatives to disclose if any of their MLAs got free tickets.

The Tories argue none of them got a ticket from a publicly-funded body, like a Crown corporation.

No Tories have filed disclosure documents regarding Jets tickets.

Current legislative rules in Manitoba say MLAs must disclose gifts, like tickets, of more than $250 in value.

NDP MLAs have already submitted disclosures on tickets despite individual tickets being below $250 in value.

The province also released the new policy (pdf) developed by the Crown Corporations Council regarding future distribution of tickets.
