A 27-year-old man from Roseau River First Nation has been identified as the cyclist who was killed Sunday when he was hit by a vehicle in the rural municipality of Montcalm.
At around 7 p.m., a man was struck by a westbound 2004 Ford pickup truck on Highway 201 approximately three kilometres east of Letellier.
Letellier is about 15 km north of the Canada-U.S. border.
An RCMP statement said investigation and witness reports have indicated the cyclist swerved in front of oncoming traffic and was struck.
The 50-year-old male driver of the truck and the 35-year-old female passenger were not injured. No charges are contemplated at this time.
Police did not release the man's name.
