Deep freeze appears to be over
Have we broken winter’s back?
The prolonged deep freeze that gripped the province for much of the last month is over. At least for now.
The mercury will drop down to -12C tonight and then rise to a balmy -3C Tuesday under sunny skies. Clouds will start to move in during the afternoon with winds becoming west at 20 km/h.
Environment Canada is calling for clouds and a high of -5C on Wednesday and a return to sun and -7C on Thursday.
Things will cool over a little on Friday, when the high is expected to be -13C, but it should get back to single digits with a high of -8C on Saturday.
