Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION

Deep freeze to end today

Today is the day Winnipeg finally breaks out of its deep freeze and moves into single-digit territory on the temperature scale.

Sunday's forecast high is -8 C with clouds moving in during the day. It will dip down to -12 C overnight with a chance of flurries in the forecast.

Monday will be balmy, with a high of -5 C and snow in Environment Canada's forecast. Tuesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs and lows both -11 C.

Enjoy it while it lasts, though, because by Thursday, the city plunges back into the deep freeze, with highs in the - 20s.

But at least the sun will return.
