Driver dies in two-vehicle collision near Anola

A 35-year-old man from La Broquerie is dead and another driver is in critical condition after a head-on collision this morning on Highway 15 near Anola.

The crash happened at about 9:45 a.m., about two km west of Anola, said RCMP spokesman Const. Miles Hiebert.

The man from La Broquerie, driving a 2008 Honda Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, a 52-year-old man from Winnipeg, was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Highway 15 was closed for several hours by the RCMP.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. The drivers were alone in their vehicles.
