Duffers unite: driving range opens
WINNIPEG - Duffers looking to get their golf game in shape should be happy this week.
In yet another unofficial sign that spring has sprung in Winnipeg, a popular driving range is set to open Tuesday.
Shooters Family Golf Centre, located at 2731 Main Street, will open at 11 a.m. and will remain open for the remainder of the season (weather permitting).
"The phone’s been ringing off the hook with people wondering when they can get out there and hit," said owner Guido Cerasani.
The March 16 start is not the earliest tee-off date for Shooters. Back in 2003, the range opened things up to the public on Mar. 3.
Cerasani figures the 18-hole course at the location will be ready for play by the end of the month.
