  • Print

The emergency room at the Health Sciences Centre was "chaotic" about the time Brian Sinclair arrived.

Allison Peterson, who arrived there about the same time as Sinclair with a family member on Sept. 19, 2008, told an inquest looking into Sinclair's death that it was so busy they finally left before receiving treatment.

"It was so chaotic there," Peterson said.

"There were just so many people there at the time... We just wanted to get out of there.

"It was crazy."

Sinclair, 45, came to the emergency room on Sept. 19, 2008, and was pronounced dead 34 hour later on Sept. 21.

The inquest has been told Sinclair, who may have been dead for up to seven hours, died of a treatable bladder infection after his urinary catheter became blocked.
