University of Winnipeg enrolment is up 0.7 per cent compared to Sept. 3, 2012, and should easily exceed 10,000 students again this year once registration is complete, university officials said today.

Fulltime students are up from 56 per cent to 60 per cent this year. Enrolment at the faculty of business and economics is up 16 per cent and is up by 8.5 per cent in science, compared to a year ago.

International students have signed up at an increase of 15.1 per cent so far, now making up 5.1 per cent of the student body.

U of W cautioned that numbers fluctuate early in the school year, and official numbers won’t be out until November.

University of Manitoba is expected to release preliminary numbers Thursday.
