Exchange restaurant expansion approval upheld

A city committee upheld a decision to approve a restaurant expansion in the Exchange.

This morning, council's downtown development committee heard an appeal from Ashdown Warehouse residents concerned with a city decision to allow Hermanos Restaurant to expand. Residents in the Ashdown Warehouse condo complex said the expanded site will be too noisy and will operate past 11 p.m.

Hermanos' Noel Bernier said Cafe Dario will move into the expanded site, and will provide fine dining and not have a cocktail lounge.

Council's downtown development committee voted to restrict the license to a dining room only.
