Federal funding for farmers' markets
The federal government will spend $450,000 to help improve Manitoba farmers’ markets.
Selkirk-Interlake MP James Bezan announced Saturday that the funds will go towards planting shelter belts, fixing or replacing canopies and covers, and erecting fixtures to improve 31 farmers’ market sites across the province.
The funding is part of a two-year $1-billion national program to stimulate projects that create jobs and maintain employment in rural communities.
