Early-morning fire destroys vacant house on Highway 15

An early-morning fire caused extensive damage to a vacant house on Highway 15.

Highway 15 remains open to traffic, RCMP said.

A fire department official said it seems like a suspicious fire at that time of the morning. He said the house was fully involved in fire when they got to the scene.

Oakbank RCMP and Springfield Fire Department have been at the scene of the fire on Highway 15 near Highway 207 since 6 a.m.

Damage is extensive, said RCMP Sgt. Line Karpish.

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation as fire crews manage the fire right now," Karpish said.
