Smoking manhole cover problem cleared up
The fire department investigated smoke coming from a manhole cover at the corner of Hargrave Street and Ellice Avenue this evening but the problem has been cleaned up and the area around the intersection has been blocked off.
The Winnipeg Fire Department said fire crews, police and the city were on scene trying to find the source of the smoke. Fire crews were called to the scene just after 7:00 p.m.
