A morning fire in Winnipeg’s King Edward neighbourhood caused $80,000 in damage and sent a family to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
A 1.5-storey house on Rutland Avenue, south of Richardson International Airport, had to be evacuated Monday morning due to a fire that started in an upstairs bedroom, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said.
Four people were sent to hospital and treated for smoke-inhalation. The fire caused $40,000 in damage to the property and $40,000 in damage to the home’s contents. The cause is under investigation, WFPS said.
