Firefighters union touts readiness to help heart attack victims

  • Print

Winnipeg is the best place to have a heart attack.

Alex Forrest, president of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, said with 40 fire trucks equipped like ambulances they can get to a heart attack victim in about four minutes, on average.

"Other cities can't touch that," he said. "They come here to see how it is done."

And to let Winnipeggers also know, the union is launching an awareness campaign on billboards, television, and benches including testimonies from heart attack survivors.
