Dozens of senior citizens have been evacuated from a personal care home in St. Vital today after the basement flooded.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says 86 residents of the Golden Links Lodge, at 2280 St. Mary’s Rd., were evacuated after water filled the basement at about 3 a.m.
The WRHA says all residents, along with their nursing and health-care aides, have been moved to nearby facilities including St. Amant and Actionmarguerite. They are expected to be there for at least 72 hours.
More details are expected to be released this afternoon.
