Families and supporters will gather at the Manitoba legislature Friday as part of a national commemoration for missing and murdered aboriginal women in Canada.
This year, the supporters will make a floral arrangement the focus of its event, according to social media. The arrangement will be fashioned in the shape of a butterfly, a symbol used as an emblem for the women
Organizers are calling the event Mamaway Kiskisitan Niwakomakanak, which means "we gather to remember our relatives."
The floral butterfly dedication is to take place on the steps of the legislature between 4 and 6 p.m. today.
