Hot on the heels of Vince Fontaine’s Native American Music Award for his solo album, Songs for Turtle Island, the Eagle and Hawk guitarist has earned another nomination for a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award.

Turtle Island is nominated in the best instrumental album category at the CAMAs to be held on Nov. 18 in Toronto as part of the Canadian Aboriginal Music Festival.

Fontaine was one of three Manitoba artists nominated for awards. Joining him in Toronto will be best female artist nominee Ali Fontaine and country artist Jerry Sereda, whose clip for I Ain’t Learned Nothing Yet is up for best music video.
