Homan, Lawton to meet in women's curling classic final

Rachel Homan of Ottawa and Saskatoon's Stefanie Lawton will play in the final tonight at 5 p.m. it the 2012 Manitoba Lotteries Women's Curling Classic at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg.

There is a $15,000 first-place prize up for grabs in the championship game.

In this afternoon's semifinals, Homan beat Cheryl Bernard of Calgary 6-3 and Lawton defeated Shannon Kleibrink of Calgary 7-3.

 

In the quarter-finals earlier today, Bernard defeated Team Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg 6-5, Homan beat Winnipeg's Barb Spencer 5-2, Lawton defeated Laura Crocker of Edmonton 4-3 and Kleibrink beat defending champion Renee Sonnenberg of Grande Prairie 8-5.
