Gardeners and lawn lovers rejoice... there's rain coming

After getting off to a sunny start, clouds are expected to roll into southern Manitoba this afternoon.

Environment Canada expects a high of 28 C and a southeast wind at 20 kilometres per hour. Even though it may be cloudy, be sure to wear sunscreen: the ultra-violet ray index should get up to 9, or very high.

Showers are expected after midnight with the risk of a thunderstorm and a low of 16 C overnight. On Wednesday, showers should end in the morning but return late in the afternoon and evening with a high of 25 C.

There’s a 60 per cent chance of showers forecast for Thursday’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ home opener with a high of just 21 C.

Sunshine and heat are expected to return Friday, just in time for the weekend, with temperatures climbing to 33 C by Monday.
