The 14th annual Winnipeg IF... Improv Festival, featuring ad-libbers from Chicago, Vancouver, Edmonton and Regina, is set for Oct. 1-5 at the Gas Station Theatre.

Highlights include performances by the annual fringe festival sell-out Dungeons & Dragons, an improvised game show called The Big Smart Improv Show and Star Alliance 557, which follows a motley intergalactic space crew stuck doing menial jobs for a multiplanetary corporation.

Other performers include the host Crumbs, local troupe Outside Joke, Chicago’s Joe Bill as well as members of Vancouver’s Instant Theatre Company, Regina’s Business and Kory Mathewson of Edmonton’s Rapid Fire Theatre.

The festival kicks off at 9 p.m. Oct. 1 with an improv sampler platter presented for free at the King’s Head Pub. For the complete schedule and ticket information go to improvfestival.blogspot.com.
