Traffic will be rerouted for much of the day on Gateway Road in East Kildonan after a vehicle collided with a hydro pole.

At 3:53 a.m., city police said, a vehicle collided with the pole and sheared the pole off, leaving the top half of the pole and the power lines dangling and lying on the road.

There were no injuries in the crash.

Traffic on Gateway Road has been closed between McLeod Avenue to Kimberly Avenue, including the intersections at Gateway and Antrim roads and Gateway and Tu-Pelo Avenue. The road will be closed for most of the day, police said, while Manitoba Hydro replaces the pole and secures the 66,000-volt lines.
