Gimme all your money — and the register tray, too

Surveillance photos show a robbery suspect in Steinbach Wednesday leaving a store, with more than just cash in hand.

The suspect, shown in footage released Thursday, was clutching a black metal tray — the one that holds cash and coins in most cash registers.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash in the robbery, along with the cash register tray, Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. from a store on Brandt Street.

The name of the business was not identified.

The street runs off Provincial Highway 12. It’s a main traffic artery for the southeastern Manitoba town and the location of a collection of basic services, including a Tim Hortons coffee shop and a local Co-op gas bar.

RCMP are asking for any information that would help them identify the suspect.

The lone male was described as about 5-7, 145 pounds, wearing a grey hoodie, jeans with a hole in the left knee, work boots, sunglasses and a bandana used to disguise his appearance.

The male fled on foot, and perhaps a bicycle, RCMP said.
