A four-year-old girl was killed at God's River First Nation on Thursday evening when she was struck by a vehicle backing out of a parking spot.
RCMP in the northern Manitoba community say the incident happened around 7 p.m. A 29-year-old man had his vehicle in reverse and the child was struck. She was taken to the nursing station but did not survive.
The name of the girl is not being released.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the fatal incident.
The community is located about 850 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
