Goldeyes reclaim wild-card lead

The Winnipeg Goldeyes dodged a wild-card bullet Saturday with a win in St. Paul.

Josh Mazzola had a pair of runs and two RBI while Michael Coles batted in two more and Yurendell de Caster added another RBI as the Fish beat the Saints 5-2. Pitcher Ace Walker got the win.

With the victory, the Goldeyes moved a game up on St. Paul and avoid dropping out of the American Association’s only wild-card spot.

The Fish are 9.5 games back of the North Division-leading Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

The Goldeyes have two games remaining in St. Paul before returning home to face the Sioux City Explorers Tuesday night.
