Goldeyes add left-handed pitcher Aguilar

The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced the signing of a new pitcher hours before their scheduled game against the Quebec Capitales on Friday.

Left-handed pitcher Gabe Aguilar will join the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The 23-year-old recently completed his four-year career at the University of New Mexico. He made 29 appearances as a senior this spring and went 5-2 with a 2.58 ERA and three saves.

The product of El Paso, Texas worked 38 1/3 innings, compiled 37 strikeouts and 10 walks. He made 66 career appearances with New Mexico, had an 8-4 record with a 3.72 ERA and three saves. Aguilar allowed only five home runs in 75 career innings.

The Goldeyes now have 21 players on their active roster, including 10 pitchers and 11 position players.
