Goldeyes ink Ace Walker

The Winnipeg Goldeyes will have their Ace in the lineup once again this summer.

The American Association club announced Wednesday afternoon that righthander Ace Walker has agreed to return to Winnipeg for his fourth Goldeyes season.

Walker, the 2009 Northern League pitcher of the year, went 7-6 with a 4.85 ERA in 2010 and saved his best for last, throwing a one-hitter against Fargo in the final Goldeyes home game of the season on Aug. 29.

"He's a durable starter who has logged a lot of innings for us the last three years," Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said in a statement.

With the signing of Walker, the Fish now have seven players under contract for the 2011 season.
