The Goldeyes are busy filling up the roster, as the team announced two more player signings on Tuesday.
Right-handed pitcher Patrick Keating and left-handed pitcher Allen Caldwell will join the Fish for the 2013 season. That makes 21 players now under contract for the upcoming season, including 13 pitchers and eight position players.
Keating, 25, played his first four pro seasons with the Kansas City Royals organization, and consistently closed out games. In 32 games with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Double-A Texas League last year, he earned a 4.79 ERA and nine saves.
Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said Keating brings a strong fastball and breaking ball to the line-up.
Joining Keating is his former Royals organization colleague Caldwell, also 25, who was sidelined last year with a shoulder injury. In 2011, the pitcher made 20 appearances, going a perfect 6-0 with a 1.97 ERA. He had 62 strikeouts in 50.1 innings.
