The Winnipeg Goldeyes improved to 6-0 on the season after defeating the Amarillo Sox in both ends of an American Association doubleheader played Wednesday in Amarillo, Texas.

The Sox jumped out to an early lead but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the first game at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium.

While the Sox led until the eighth inning, the Goldeyes worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Fehlandt Lentini.

It was a good day at the plate for the Winnipeg Goldeyes' Nick Liles, who went 3-for-4 and drove in one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

The Goldeyes won game 2 by a 5-0 score in seven innings.

Leonard Davis went 3-for-4. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth.

Alex Capaul gave up four hits and struck out four batters over five shutout innings, paving the way for the Goldeyes' win.
