Golf courses to open Saturday

  • Print

Another sign winter is finally behind us: Winnipeg’s golf courses are starting to show signs of life again.

Three City of Winnipeg golf courses -- Crescent Drive, Harbour View and Kildonan Park – are scheduled to tee off the 2013 season Saturday morning. The three tracks will join the John Blumberg Golf Course, which opened for business this morning.

Reservations for tee times can be made three ways: calling 311 (open 24 hours every day), contacting the course directly, or through the three-day advance online reservation system (winnipeg.ca/golf).

Here’s the contact information for each course:

  • Crescent Drive Golf Course, 781 Crescent Drive

Clubhouse phone: 204-986-5911

  • Kildonan Park Golf Course, 2021 Main Street

Clubhouse phone: 204-986-5679

  • Harbour View Golf Course and Recreation Complex, 1867 Springfield Road

Clubhouse phone: 204-222-2751 (book online at drivetheball.com)

  • John Blumberg Golf Course, 4540 Portage Avenue

Clubhouse phone: 204-986-3490 (book online at drivetheball.com)

The Windsor Park Golf Course is expected to open at a later date.

Golfers should be aware that the earliest tee times will depend on the overnight temperature. Play will only be permitted when conditions are favourable; early morning frost may delay start times at each course.
