Halloween beating leaves one in hospital, one in custody

One teen is in hospital and another is facing assault charges after a Halloween beating.

At about 10 p.m. Saturday night, paramedics happened upon an injured 17-year-old near McGregor Street and Manitoba Avenue. The teen had been badly beaten, perhaps by as many as four people. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Police are still investigating, but they have arrested a 15-year-old boy, who is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm. He was released on a promise to appear.
